New Additions to the Watkins website

September 25, 2005
Added the Watkins Pacific Railroad series. This series encompasses the 364 stereoviews by Alfred Hart (published by Watkins after 1870) showing the construction of the Central Pacific railroad over the Sierra Nevada mountains and across the Nevada and Utah desert. Views on Hart mounts are included where Watkins mounts are not available or where differences in cropping occur.

Images have been provided by Steve Heselton and Jim Crain. In addition, The Bancroft Library has agreed to include links to their extensive holdings via the On-Line Archive of California.
