Notes:CMP notes: Comanche was launched Nov. 14, 1864 (Calif. Historical Society Quarterly 33 (Sep. 1954): p. 236. The Comanche sank while being assembled in Nov. 1863, and re-built and launch occurred Nov. 14, 1864. It remained at Mare Island until 1899.
