Notes:	Trial trip from San Francisco to Mare Island was "entirely successful" as reported in Jan. 23, 1865 Sacramento Daily Union. Note that a second "trial trip" occurred on Feb. 10, 1865 at Mare Island and San Pablo Bay where guns were tested. Since view 692 is at San Francisco, it is presumably the start of the Jan. 21, 1865 trial trip. (information provided by Jeff Watt)
